    All,
    Again, looking for an education. Can anyone comment on this EK1?

    Just my 2 cents - I am struck by the lack of detail in the crown and the numeral 7 looks wrong...thoughts?

      Looks OK to me. Later manufacture, possibly repainted. Weitze's scans aren't the best but it seems to compare well with one of my EKII's

        Whenever I see the tips of pins snipped like that, I get the willies.


        I'd like to see a sideways view (edge of frame) of the cross.

          Stretching the bounds of logic at best a 1914-18 era example( IMO very,very doubtful as the quality is not there). Most likely a reworked 1914 EKI with a replaced bogus core to catch the unwary.

          Just some thoughts.

            Maybe not 'stretching the bounds' as much as you think Tony....

            Currently for sale on e-stand, a nice 1914 S-W marked EK1 (pictured on right)

            Pin look familiar??
