    Hi Chip,

thank for clarifying. These kind of discussions would go easier if we could all sit at a table full of interesting imperial items and with a beer in hand .

    Best regards,
    Michel

Thanks Kay, but I think I will stay with the beer, it goes down better! On second thought, two or three beers sounds even better!

Interestingly, some of these are apparently marked CEJ under the crown.

I believe that the undated Jäger type insignia are postwar and used by police and possibly forestry officials. Original pre-1918 examples would have the year of the award on the stag's skull.

                    Regards,
                    Chip

                        Gentlemen,

what are your thoughts on this one?
It is stitched with an extra bow of oakleaves.
I do not believe it is Freikorps era due to the crown.
                        Maybe Jägerbund?

                        Thanks!

Thought you guys might like to see a Bavarian version of the award. Also the first model KA with second award as a separate attachment rather than the badge scroll.

                            no - there is a list in a german-collectors-magazin from 1982:
"Orden-Militaria-Magazin" Nr. 7/82 (from the BDOS)

Is this magazine available anywhere? I have seen this issue referenced on German websites.

A Jäger emblem on the cover of a photo album from the 1./ Garde-Jäger-Bataillon, which apparently won the award in 1910.

I believe this is a badge for former members of the Garde-Schützen-Bataillon (Berlin). Without crown and in gilt metal, it did become a Freikorps badge for the same unit.
