Imperial post WW1.. thing? Watch fob? Medal? Hanger?

Picked this up in a large US collection, no idea what it is. Dated a927 and silver.

I know i have SEEn something like it before, but don't remember what it was.

    Anyone know this one?

It's a piece of Studentika, these things were given as keepsakes between students during this period. Yours says, "Pionier Verein i.\l. Kamerad M. Bauer zum Andenken 1927", which translates roughly to, " Pioneer Association i.\l. (?) Comrade M. Bauer in remembrance 1927".

      Thank you Vince!

Hrm, I was hoping Pioneers was a military reference, not civic school association.

I'm in the believe it is. I'm not much into Studentika, but have never read such a dedication on some studentic stuff.

...and the red/black/gray ribbon would make sense for a former pioneer. Red and black being the pioneer colors and gray the uniform color.

              I don't think it's military, possibly a scouting item?
