A study of the 'J. Godet & Sohn * Berlin *' Buttons

These buttons bothers me a bit since mine got a stamp 'A. M & Cie - Paris' on the back. (Cie means Co in French).

A.M & Cie were founded in 1854. Made buttons (only buttons it seems) for several countries, different branches, and ended their production in 1960. That's all i know so far.

Did J. Godet outsource the buttons to a French company or are they repros made before 1960?

Not all of them might have the A.M stamp on back, they need to be studied.

I believe all awards found with them are period items, esp the 27mm RAO4 are extremly nice. The 26, 30 and 34mm Prinzen/minis is not of highest quality but still believed to be period.

Buttons. To me it looks like all are made by the same die, material and even paint.

Please add more of the same type and have a look on the back if possible.

Ron R confirmed that his reverse is marked, one of them is A.M. Ben got his framed so can not have a look.

Some are found with '25 oaks' so 1895-

RAO with stippled arms points to 1861?- (not sure what year the arms became stippled)

A.M was founded 1860-

J. Godet & Sohn 1877-

No 1914 EK's are found with the button so far but it still leaves us with a pretty big time span.
