        Hi Bernd,

Very interesting! When I saw the thread title I though it might be a mis-identification of a We but seeing the pics I think not. The second letter does not look like a "e" (double struck or not), nor (from memory) does the core look like a "We".

I have no problems with the cross or case so, again, very interesting!

        Regards
        Mike

          Hi Mike,

          thank you for your answer.

Like you I'm really sure it isnt a "We". Here a "We" from me.

This cross should be added to our "Database" thread.

Not sure it's WA, could be a poorly or double struck incuse-W in a box too, or something totally different

Core looks like the "W-family" at least.

Any chance of more pics of the mark?

If the core could be identified it would be a start. I'm sure I've seen that style of core before.

                  Thanks for your opinions!

I'll try to make more fotos. I cant handle my new camera so it could last a few days

By the way, a very good friend of me is convinced that it is a "We". He has got the same fotos I have published here.

Thinking about this, I like the mistruck (or multi-struck) W theory. I'm am pretty sure my W has this core (which is shared by a few makers). My own We actually has the generic slant W core. Sorry, I can't post pics as I'm away from home for a while. The marking to me does NOT look like We - the "small letter" (assuming it is not a mistrike) is angular, not curved.
