The obverse frame and core look OK. The reverse looks totally bogus, from hardware to maker mark to patina. I'm thinking another Frankenstein.

Absolutely horrible from the reverse. Why use two known maker marks? When I see fingerprints on awards it says artificial patina to me.

I also think it's a put together piece. Bad pin, never before seen
makers marks, fake patina. Even the shape of the back is bad,
            Uneven and out of square.

                Horrible pin.

Excessive flux discoloration around hinge and catch.

Poorly formed letters in makers mark.

IMO not something for my collection.

Never seen one like this before, but I'm with you - I think this's a Frankenstein.

Core doesn't seem to fit the frame.
Strange. Looks like a "get it together" funky piece.

No I don't but seeing finger prints in it sure makes me
                        think it was chemically applied.

I would wonder why. I realize there are probably many explanations
on how those finger prints got there. For example even a person's
own natural oily fingers can cause problems.

However on the cross posted in this thread, it's just one more red flag
among others that give me cause for concern.
