How They Wore Them - Austrian Naval Aviator

Here's a wonderful photo of Linienschiffsleutnant Franz Mikulezky, head of the Austrian-Hungarian Naval Air Service. This pic is particularly good because, beside presentation of the Pilot's Badge and ribbons, all the cap, shoulder, and hat insignia is well illustrated as well.

For those who have Don Chalif's Military Pilot & Aircrew Badges of the World, you can find a painting of a much older Mikulezky in full dress attire. Unfortunately, the photo was flopped in publication and all the awards are shown on the wrong sides.

Perhaps someone has a photo of the rare Naval Pilot's Badge in color? All I have left is in b & w.

Intresting-- he has stuffed his 40mm wide ribbons under each other in what looks like a rigid ribbon bar, instead of the usual single ribbons looped/clipped on horizontal tunic threads...

he's also got his EK ribbon on "upside down"!
