Silly question time. If Blucher's Star of the Grand Cross was destroyed in a fire in the mid-1800s why would we not assume that his other awards were stored with it and thus, destroyed too?

Don. Assumptions often lead to imperfect conclusions. What is known is that the star was lost in the fire. From what I can find there is no mention of other decorations being destroyed. I would not assume that all were destroyed. I certainly am not privy to everything ever written or reported on that particular situation. But, am basing my line of thought on what information I can find.
It is odd is that there is no mention of the Grand Cross as being destroyed. Just because one piece may be destroyed it doesn't necessarily follow that every piece or decoration was destroyed.
Just some thoughts.
TonyAn opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.
