    Hi Bernie,

    I have seen the EK device on ribbon bars before, but never two. This device reminds me of a stick-pin.

      I agree with Pierce -- and I've seen a few ribbon bars with stickpin add-ons lately. I think someone is doing them, trying to increase value on two small items by combining them.

      It could have been done 90 years ago, of course. But somehow I doubt it myself.

        I doubt it as well. It is absolutely unusual for Imperial Germany (and later) to wear a pin back award - like EK1 - on a ribbon bar.

        This was not usual until the 1950s and this bar is not the right style for this.

                And yes, you've seen it right. They did use an upside down 1939 cross instead of the proper 1914 cross which was probably not in stock - in late 1950s or 60s.
