Nice!
That "1870" is the smallest and furthest from the rim I've ever seen.
Does the flange width seem large, like a '14 replacement, to anyone?
Finally, notice on the reverse that the eyelet doesn't sit directly over the top of FW's crown. It's slightly to one side of it. Not the first time I've seen that. Thanks,
Eric Gaumann

Eric,
I thought this one looked familiar. I have one EXACTLY like it, down to every detail on the crowns and leaves. Mine is marked KO on the ring, and has 25th oakleaves mounted on the ribbon. Notice the cross itself is also shaped like the KO 1914 EK2's. Know what I mean?--distinctive shape.
I saw another like ours for sale on a European web site described as an 1870 made at the govt. mint during the early 1900's. Nice cross, and an old one, but I think it's not 1870-1880 period.
