Nice Husar photo and evidence that Bier and Bratwurst are not on the Atkin's diet pla

Oh, I can almost hear the high-pitched squeal from Rick L. when he tries to open this page. Big pics.

I assume this was taken after the war, as this fellow is wearing his ribbon bar etc. He is wearing a M1910 Feldgrau Attila and he has the double cuff Tresse of a Etatmäßiger Wachtmeister. This might be a M1915 Friendens (Future peactime) Attila, but I cannot make out if there is no pocket flap. Note the officer's Portepee which he was entitled to carry. Also, he not carrying the issued M89 Cavalry Degen, but the Officer pattern Husar Saber.

A close up of Busby. At his rank, he was entitled to wear chinscales and a privately purchased Busby, but this looks like a standard M1915 issued Busby as indicated by the leather M91 chinstrap and the short, tight seal fur. Of interest, he has placed the ribbed Feldzeichen on it. To recap, Dave, Glenn, and myself had a rather excited debate on this and I concede that there is no AKO evidence (that I know of?) that this is a NCO Feldzeichen and it may just be a private purchase addition. Unfortunately, I cannot make out his Kokarde.

Can you believe the clarity of that photo? I just noticed his EK is backwards! That's all, thought you all may enjoy this. Tony

              Great photo!

Tony, would it be possible to provide a closeup of the ribbon bar as well?

                    2) 1900-01 China Campaign Medal (Kalgan & Tsekingkwan, methinks)
