Unfortunately I haven't got more pictures but I can see why you ask. It seems that the catch has been repaired.
Does anyone have more pictures of a similair badge with this hinge/catch setup? (i searched the forum but couldn't find one)

None of my TWM's have thıs type of hinge/catch but that does not mean there is something wrong with yours. There are plenty of variations out there.
This is the only photo I have on file showing close ups of the pins, etc on these strawberry seeds stars.
