No Mark, just a picture in a book.

                  Don,

Would it be possible for your to post larger pics of these two? Specifically the crowns if possible.

                  Thanks!

                  Tony

This Grand Cross looks familiar ............, that is the type prince Leopold wore.

Here are obverse and reverse pictures of Godet's 1914 Grand Cross, ...sand cast iron core, ..."o" ring is not part of the frame - separate piece.
...(ribbon is not original to this cross).

More of an orden-guide than a catalogue as far as I can remember.

What I could never figure out (even in the larger version of the images Dave danner links to in that thread) is if it IS in fact 'W. Godet and Sohn' written on the poster or if that is merely an old German script J' or even a 'G'.

I really don't think we can label them Godet's just yet. Given the early date of the picture (pre Sep 1915) I would think that Godet assembled examples from various makers. I doubt they could have tooled up to make all those awards that quickly. For instance, the WHS looks like the Wagner model from these images. And the letter in front of Godet does indeed look to be a W?

When did J. Wagner go out of business if indeed they ever did? Given the other Godet thread on the company timeline etc... and the GMIC thread with the mini kettchen with Godet mini awards (both Werner- Godet and Godets) I think it is safe to say that when Werner and Godet merged they kept the dies etc... that was part of the company. Gebr. Godet must have created new dies when they stood up their company in 31ish.

                              Just thinking out loud here.

I am surprised that no one has commented on the PLM.
