early g98

I recently bought a gewehr98, oberndorf am Neckar, made in 1899.
How rare is a mauser with such an early maker year?

The most g98's I'ves een till now are dated '16 till '18.

Yeah, ok, that's pretty obvious, but I mean off course a collectible rifle and not a dug up one.
By the way, I assume you've dug up some rifles then? Are the G88's very common there?
