    Something for Stogieman...

...instead of posting something really boring like a highfalutin' medal bar just chock full of enameled Sachsen orders, I thought I'd pop this maroon cigar case on. It is made of pressed paper and metal; despite the blemish on the upper right corner (not really visible when viewed in person) it is very nice.

The main question I have about it concerns the patent mark--instead of the usual 'Ges. Gesch.' it seems to read ' Adr. gesch.' Any opinions or known facts concerning this type of patent?

    Cool!

Ahhh, yes, pre-embargo cigars... in a vintage holder, very nice. I'm addle-minded today, so I can't help on the Adr. thing, perhaps one of our German members can provide the fine distinction between these marks:

    Adr. Gesch.
    Ges. Gesch.
    D.R.G.P.
    D.R.G.M.

These seem to be the main patent initials we encounter. First time in forever I've seen the Adr. Gesch. though. I do remember there are degrees of patents, just not which initials correspond to which degree.
Maybe Speiss, or Munich can assist??

      Hi,

not exactly my theme, but I will try.

Ges.Gesch means Gesetzlich geschützt (protected by law)

D.R.P in my opinion Deutsches Reichs Patent

D.R.G.M. in my opinion Deutsches Recih Gebrauchs Muster

D.R.G.P. I cannot remember if I have seen something like that.

      Adr. Gesch. I dont know......

      Best greetings

      Daniel
