Massive saw back pioneer?? Short sword

Hello folks. This was just brought into my shop this morning by a local gent. Jury's still out on exactly what it is, but I'm leaning toward either German (or perhaps Swiss / French??) mid-19th century type of Engineers "Faschinenmesser" type weapon?? Solid brass hilt w/ stubby "S" guard, up-swept WIDE (2 inches x 19 1/2") blade w/ saw-back spine. The only markings I can ascertain are on the guard and they're "1831 T.M. AG." Does anyone have any idea exactly what I may have here?? Thanks!

Mystery solved! Russian Model 1827 "Falchion" pioneers sword. Blade is in nearly relic condition but it's pretty neat. Apparently used heavily during the Crimean Wars of the 1850's. Thanks for taking a look!
