    Imperial ek2 framed

I had this posted in the crosses forum and a member thought that this cross was possibly of 20's-30's manufacture. Your opinions are welcome.

        Hi Frank,

        Is this one magnetic?
        Best regards,

          Yes, the core is magnetic.

It's true that this core type is associated with later-manufactured EKs. But I don't know of any solid proof that it was not also used during the war. It doesn't seem likely to me, but there is so much that is unknown about the Iron Cross, especially the 1914 series. If this piece had been presented by itself, I think it would have gotten a unanimous response: "nice piece from between the wars." But who knows?
            Best regards,
            Streptile

Whenever the cross was produced, I think it's a very cool presentation!
              Good catch Frank!

Thanks guys. I've actually had this for a few years and am going to be letting it go.
