      John, that's a nice and relatively scarce original of about 1910, with the S mark for 'Silber'

        I thought the "S" was for the manufacturer, Scharfenburg (sp).

          Vince is right, "S" is a mark for (gilt) silver (for not confusing them with real gold ones). However, it was used by Scharfenberg...

              Yup, pretty confusing, since Scharffenberg also issued pieces marked 'Scharffenberg Dresden' with the 'S', and others with just the 'S'
