you'll probably know all about hallmarks.
for those who don't here is a link to a very usefull site with a lot of (German) Hallmarks.

I obtained these two patriotic or veteran pieces and would like to know what exactly are they for. Key hanger or watch fob?
          Thanks in advance.

I love patriotik schmucks!, this one looks like a watch fob, I have seen several like that related to school organizations, you might try to see if the engraved letters refers to a specific school. Hope this helps!.

Here is neat little piece I picked up. Pin looks like either a add on or repaired one-not a typical stick pin Mike

                Mike,

It seems odd to see an EK on a British background motif. The rose and the thistle along with the British crown, make me wonder if this wasn't altered at some point. When you look at the rear view, there is a hole that may originally have held some other device? Regardless, an interesting piece.

                  Another odd one.

A neat little mini Ek hanging from a hand stitched American flag.

There was a German Bund in the U.S. which was very strong during the 19th century. I imagine that is what your piece reflects. The Bund fell into public disfavor during the war and many ethnic Germans kept a low profile as the horrible Hun propaganda ramped up.

I suppose the British related EK could be something similar?

                        Thanks Chip.
I had guessed it belonged to one of the German / American
                        associations.

Interesting observation on the piece I posted. There is a hole but have no idea what it was used for. The stickpin attachment does look like it could have been home done. I'll fit right in with our other patriotic items. Mike
