Yes, it's a good one. Most of the reproductions are castings with solid backs. They do not have period pin attachments either. This is a fairly common badge and I can't recall seeing a copy of it, but that does not mean they don't exist.

I forgot to mention that there is photographic evidence of German troops wearing this badge. I think there is even a thread on this forum that discusses the various Austrian and Austrian style badges/pins that were worn by German troops.
