      You're killing me here . How many Grand Cross of the RAOs were ever
      handed out? I would guess less than 100. So there surely are not very
      many minis floating about. Those are outstanding examples of some
      beautiful and rare minis.

      You are correct in the attention to detail in the better minis. While I
      don't have any of the rarer items to offer up as an example, I can show
      this one--

      1914 Ek2. Three piece construction with a iron core and silver frame.

        You are right gregM, that is a beautiful example. I have never seen a ribbon band patterned like that. I assume that there is no maker mark on the button?

        I am especially glad that you posted this EK because it illustrates an important point. Not all minis are “gee whiz” quality; and nowhere do you find a greater range than with EK’s. Most fall into an “oh no to well... okay” range; but then there are the few, like yours, that show us how it is done right.
