    Battle Damaged Ek

As most of you know, I like crosses that show some character. Mint
crosses are great but I like the ones that have a sense of history to them.

This one was advertised as "Battle damaged"----Yea I know, buy the
cross, not the story. It was most likely damaged in a house fire last year
but who knows maybe it's legit.

    Looks like a unmarked KO.

Nice one, Greg. You should put it in my thread, 'Battered and Bruised'.

Nice cross I like it. I too prefer all my items to at least look like they have been awarded or worn. I dont wish to attract the ire of other collectors but to me it is all about collecting history. I am not into makers marks but dont think the worse of those who are. Every used and worn piece has a story which unfortunatly we have to make up in our heads most of the time whereas something mint or unissued lacks this and was probably found at wars end stored in a factory. Again each to their own but I like this cross

I think it will look good displayed next to my Ek2 with
                the blood stained ribbon.
