In post 39, Sascha mentioned that house numbers shifted in 1937. Therefore the Godet company did not move -- their building number was changed when Berlin's address system was revamped. This did occur in 1937.

The much more likely scenario though is that a collector or a dealer have paired the mini and the case up.
Yes, I'd be inclined to conclude that the mini and case were paired up as well. Thanks for your input.

Here's a small Godet packet I just picked up. It measures 6 x 9 cm. The helmet pin shown is just for size comparison. Based on Trevor's Godet history research and the Charlottenstraße 55 address, I would date this packet between 1913 and 1923. Your opinions are welcomed. Thanks.

          Best, Alex

No desire to interrupt your line of inquiry, Alex, but for what its worth, I did a quick run through the entire thread, and note all examples of cases bearing the Godet name are marked J. Godet & Sohn. This may be just a curiosity of "sampling error," but does anyone have a "Gebr. Godet" case (for any award?) Are all the marked cases red?

Gebr. Godet cases, bags and small boxes certainly exist, and I have a few photos of them somewhere, on one of two very disorganized computers. I will take a look.

Thanks, Trevor--should be fun to see them and interesting to check out the evolution of font, etc.

I think most or all boxes I've ever seen use this logo.

As with many things by Gebr. Godet, they seem to have taken their lead from J. Godet.

The box is fascinating in and of itself, Trevor, with the cursive font much in contrast to the more geometric form seen in the maker mark logo. The mini......sigh....

Do Gebr. Godet cases bear the same font?

Thanks Jim. Yes, the case logos I have seen are all like this -- the same one. This little gem came from http://woeschler-orden.de/

                              Thanks Pierce
