      White Falcon Brace

      Don,
I was checking out "The Fighting Man" thread (by the way, nice collection of Reuss awards!!!). But in looking at posts 191 & 192, your White Falcon Brace by Godet, I don't really see the difference between that and mine that started the thread. Same back brace with the holes at the bottom to secure the thread to the ribbons, and the same white securing thread on the front. Since Saschaw did not post any Godet bars to make his point clear I went looking and found yours. I know that you might think I'm beating a dead horse because Claudio has spoken, but riddle me this; whats the difference????

Every Godet bar that I've seen has the same style stitching on in. I should have caught it on yours but I didn't. Note how it is stitched across the top. Every tailor has a style and that is thier signature. BTW- you inspired my thought for a new series of threads: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=487676

Your bar is worth the value of its componants and as a representative piece it is good imo. Its not trying to be a someone, just an example of a medal bar that a regular junor officer would have worn.

I personally think that a new series of threads based on learning the styles of different braces would be a great idea.

Sorry! I'm not even sure if I have any Godet medal bar handy. Biggest problem is I'm not a native speaker and cannot explain that complicated stuff. I can hardly in German...

                    Ron,

Your last Hansa Cross is from Bremen, not Luebeck.
