Any ideas what it may be?

A friend came in with these, I looked in my Niemann, Rosignolli, and several other reference books to no avail...

The cross is very well made, looks like silver (Although not marked) and looks like gold center button. Junker style pin & catch. Engraved on reverse K.v.N. and G. M.

(sorry for the bad cell phone pics santa didn't bring the shop a camera)

The other looks of the same period but may just be a brooch. Well made though.

    any ideas- thoughts of value?

    Thanks!

Possibly connected to Johanniter order. Maybe for a nurse?

      Thanks!
The St. John order was my first thought too, but I have not been able to find it referenced yet.

I think the black Maltese cross is a Freikorps badge. There were a number of Freikorps badges for sale on the e-stand not long ago and I think I saw one of those for sale.

It s a crummy photo, the "black" badge is actually silver, with a stippled finish like a KVK. most of the orders I found were enamel.

here it is hyped out to show detail

            Seeing those might help.

I meant "found" as in "found on line" or "found in reference books", These are the only two pins that came in (so far)

Ah, okay. The so called Professkreuz, that was worn on the breast by any Johanniter knight, wheather neck cross he wore, is often from Leinen (linen), but they come as well in silver or white enemaled. It may be one of these, or, especially if smaller, a brooche for a Johanniter nurse. It is unlikely a Freikorps badge.
