I like the bar on that page. It is what I would expect. You will quite often find Baden bars with this larger hook for the odd Baden suspension. Notice that it seems all of the ribbons are 25mm. On your bar the Baden ribbon is as wide as the EK and still has some hidden. I would expect all the ribbons to be the same size when dealing with such common awards - now foreign or something odd/rare getting remounted could be a different story.

If the price was right then be happy that you got a deal. One of my best bars is most likely a put together and I knew that when I purchased it. The truth is that with a pair of scissors I could easily double my money.

I respectfully disagree- to my eyes, the EKII ribbon looks thinner than the ribbons for both the Baden medal and the Honor Cross, the same way as it is on my bar.

The price was indeed right. As I said, as long as the ribbon bar is the only thing that could be questionable, I still got a bargain.

        Do NOT touch it.
        It may be real.
There are dozens of photos of older vets who lived long enough to get this combination. I know it strains credibility to believe it, but there were a number of officer stellvetreters who were professionals who got stuff like this and who had served as boys in 1870-71.
One of the oldest german offciers killed was a war time Lt dR. who stated as a private and ended up as a divisional "graves officer" who was killed in 1917 by shell fire. HE had served in the Union (US) army in 1865! He got the EK2 and a state medal and had he lived until 1935 ...... aged 91.....

An original metal bracket with 4 hooks was recycled and made into a bar for 3 medals. Someone added an extra medal on the fourth hook. It is the simplest explanation. Gary

There's not a doubt about this, I have similar groups - but that bar does not make sense nor does it look like an old one.
