Help with IDing badge, possbily Artillery?

Hello,
I was told that this could be an early Bavarian badge, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what it is and who would have worn it? It is very solid and heavy, almost like bronze. It has no maker marks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

As far as I could find out the

Königlich Bayerisches Feldartillerie-Regiment „Prinzregent Luitpold“ Nr. 1

started 11.1.1824 in München. May be the badge is related to the centenary of this unit.

I think it commemorates the two Bavarian field artillery regiments Nr.1 and Nr.7. It has the founding dates and cyphers of both. They were both garrisoned in Munich as well.
