Liebe Verwandte,

Für die vielen Liebesgaben, die Ihr mir gesendet habt, sage ich euch meinen besten Dank.
Der liebe Gott möge Euch belohnen und Glück und Segen in Euer Haus einkehren lassen.
Hoffentlich werde ich Euch in den ersten Sommertagen einmal besuchen um ...? mit euch Lieben sprechen zu dürfen.
So will ich jetzt schließen und euch grüßen, denn ich will zu Bett gehen.

Just a little note to say that this card was mailed by a recruit, who was still in Germany at the regimental Kaserne at Gießen. He had not been to the front yet.
