Huge Prussian School Flag? Interesting

Just picked up this flag from a good friend of mine and would like some help finding out more about it and if it can be saved?
The detail work on this thing is amazing on both sides! Dated 1914, measures approx 47" by 41 1/2".

imperial state eagle flag ???

...picked up this flag ...would like some help finding
out more about it and if it can be saved? ...

A superb vintage flag, made by a firm still in
business today. I have several of their flags, but
sadly they report via email that their old flag records
were destroyed in WW2. This firm in more recent
times is now the maker of the modern German Army
truppenfahnenspitzen - a favorite in my collection.
