    Mediatized Houses Orders

I have heard, and read, that some of the "mediatized" Houses could award orders, Like Thurn und Taxis or Isenburg-Birstein.

Those orders were awarded als AFTER the Mediatization? Pre Unitarina Italian Sovreigns kept awarding medals and Orders to the mens of the regiments they were Colonels, and to other Royal/Noble families...

Someone has any idea about that?

No. They were not allowed to issue awards officially in the 19th century after mediatization.

Occasionally one will find "official" awards from post-1866 Hannover etc but those were NOT "legally authorized," even if old veterans DID wear them.

The "ruling houses" of the Imperial German federal states (Prussia, Sachsen-Coburg, Bavaria, etc etc) could and did bestow decorations after 1918 and those were generally allowed for wear as "dynastic" awards... though hardly ENCOURAGED under the Weimar Republic!

The petty states were not considered to be in the same category.

Indeed, some of these houses still give awards today!!
$200 donation to the Royal Ethiopian Relief Fund will get you an Order of Menalik. Before he went back the King of Afghanastan was most generous with people who worked/donated for Afghani causes.
Other German houses still give award -albeit rarely.
The most common Weimar "rayal" award was the Bavarian Wedding Jubillee medal-which was worn even after 1933.
