    nice one!
if i'm right its a later war issue of the altenburg medal - the earlier ones are made of bronze and the later ones made out of zink or other metal (which was not that important to the war industry)

About 10000 of these medals were awarded.

Erhard Roth, God bless 'im wherever he is, reports in his Sachsen-Altenburg WW1 awards rolls published by Michael Autengruber that 15,788 of the Bravery Medals were awarded in total. The award rolls exist for them, but because there were so many it has not been published (yet).

Normally these required already possessing the EK2, and were considered the basis for the NEXT step up the Altenburg WW1 awards sytem, House Order Medals with swords.

Nice medal bar and not common as these numbers indicate compared to five MILLION Iron Crosses 2nd Class!
