I got this medal in a mixed lot of items. I'm guessing it's from an officer's school. Behind the pin it's named and dated. My guess is the soldier served in WW1 and was in school in 1927 and awarded this medal? Does anybody know?

Hi Troy101,
there are two parts, that don't belong together.
The top piece is a common patriotic piece in remembrance of WW I.
I think, the missing parts are a laurel on the left side and a small IC in the middle.
The cross is from a shooting association (Schützengesellschaft).
