An Imperial cross can not be a Schinkel -- a Schinkel is, by definition, a 1939 EK that was made with frames or frame stamping dies left over from the period before 1 September 1939, when a new larger design for the Iron Cross was mandated. It is generally accepted that reusing old frames or refurbishing old dies was an effort at cost-saving by EK makers.
I believe yours is a good cross made by Otto Schickle in the 1920s or 1930s.
Best regards,
Streptile
