    Strange crown devices

I'm nowhere near familiar enough with Austrian ribbon bars to be able to comment on the ribbons (...and I'm away from my reference materials...), however the thing that strikes me about this ribbon bar are the rather muffin-esque crown devices.

    Any thoughts or comments?

    weird crowns

Austrian will have wreathes, swords and miniatures, but crowns?? The crowns look distinctly Italian. To my knowledge ,and checking in my books just to make sure,Austria didn't use that ribbon device.Italy used it in in silver and gold(and in multiples) to denote the order's class. The only reason I can see for someone using them is that someone thought they could do the same thing to the Austrian order and long service cross. The expression "modern manufacture" (fake) comes to mind.

I would walk away from this one. Too many things not right. The second ribbon is for The Order of The Iron Crown . . .that doesn't mean the device used should be a crown, swords were good enough. Austrians used a lot of swords, wreaths, etc but no crowns to my knowledge.

Fourth ribbon from the right is a Prussian Red Cross Medal (in bronze) usually for non combatants, rather out of place on this bar of combat awards.

On the last ribbon are those ladder stripes blue?? Hungarians used green stripes.

      Just my $.02 (pre-tax)

Rather looks that way.. Wonder if that might be some sort of veteran's commemorative medal used out of context.

          I looked at this one....

... apart from the very naughty & wrong crowns.... Swords on the 1873 "War Medal"??... a rather hand-snipped looking catch on the back as well!
