    Saxon St. Henry's Maker Question

Stogieman can you give me an idea who the maker is for this St. Henry's? Too bad there is the enamel damage.

    Thanks,
    Dan Cole

There are not any maker marks on the piece. Schade eigentlich.

        Scharffenberg

Hi Dan, nice cross! I think the depth and color of the enamel (the green), the painting of the portrait and the gilding are consistent with a Scharffenberg cross ca. 1916-1918. It's odd, but you'll see many un-hallmarked ones and then the lonely one with full maker marks!

          One more thing

Hi Dan, I forgot, the shape and size of the crown is almost identical to the ones I have that are known Scharffenberg pieces. Great Cross!
