    New additions Ek1 Meybauer

    Hi All,

its been a while since I posted some of my new additions.

First up a Meybauer Ek1, marked under the needle just above the catch. It has the slanted W core, which IMO is not so much encountered in a Meybeuer. It's also not in the database . Note the glossy paint which matches with my other marked Meybauer, with the more standard core (discussed here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=404647.) I photographed them side by side.

Second I like to present a presumably Meybauer piece with the cruciform backplate and DRGM PM 800 marked disc. Both the cross and the backplate are marked 900. One downfall is the wear on the screw post which makes the disc stay on with help of the thread.

    Best regards,
    Michel

Some nice Meybauers there. I still haven't picked up one of those screwbacks. Here's my pinback, also with the company logo and glossy paint.

Michael, you might want to try a Die on the threads, used for cutting/repairing screws like this. They're available in three degrees, starter, medium & finishing. I used a medium to repair the damaged threads on a couple of SBs in the past. You might want to take the screw disk with you and try a few screws in it so you get the right size.

Great crosses and great photos, Michel.

This is one type that I have never gotten for myself.
