    Leo's 1870 EKII Medalbar

Here is a genuine medalbar with an awarded 1870 EKII. Why awarded? This medalbar was put together right after the 1870-71 war and not reassembled in 1895 with fru fru battle bars and Kaiser centenary and long service doodads. (Seriously, if it had all those things it would be nice, but the lack of these awards dates it!)

This medalbar could have been Leo's FIRST bar! Koenig Graetz and the EKII and the 1870-71. I think when you see the patina and construction on this piece I'm hoping you'll agree with me that this piece is not messed with.

Maybe even Leetle Reecky L. will make an appearance.

BTW, this EK isn't really loose, even though it does come off of this.

No matter what I do I can't figure out what that mark is? Silver content? Maker mark? I hate to clean that spot...

So you have two 1870 EK2 from Leo? Now this is really interesting. Here is an 1870, a family piece, traceable back through the generations and the detail on the crowns is just awful. Other EK2 have been scoffed and because they had this type of poor detail. Yet here it is........

Same setup here George. Now I have to wait for Reecky's construction comments.

No, I say this because this COULD be Leo's FIRST medalbar. Before the '95 fru fru add ons. Me be a leetle misleading in title...

NOT a MM or silver mark, it was flakes of stuff looking like numbers.
