U-Boat Maker Mark Question

Hi:
I got this stickpin on the estand and is maker marked just... 35
What is that? An L # ? Anyone know who this maker is?
Is this a third reich produced WWI U-Boat stickpin?
I will shortly put it back in my collection and was wondering if it would be correct with my WWI and, or, my WWII?

The mark looks like 935 or possibly 835 to me.

It looks like a well rounded apostrophe. I think it may be an 8 due to the roundness of the right side.
The three and five are such strong strikes that why didn't the first one take?
Too busy to do it over?

20-30s would be my guess. I think the punch used to mark it was not hit squarely and that is why the first number is so faint.

Thanks Don. In that light, looking with my #40 loop I would say 835.
Can that be gold content ? As the 800 and 900 silver content in EK's ?
