    1914 EK2 mm "We" - opinions please

This EK2 just arrived from Germany. The core is identical to my EK1 shown further below. I always thought my EK1 was a maker marked "Ws". But now having compared the maker marks on both crosses, I'm convinced my EK1 is also a "We". Your comments and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Best, Alex

Thanks for your interest. Here are some shots. The EK1 is difficult to make out, even with the naked eye. So I hope this shot will do.

You're right. Mine has a tiny number "8" on the small ring. Thanks for the tip, Dave.

            Hi Alex,

I love matching sets of EK1s and EK2s. I believe that both yours are marked 'We' and both are extremely nice examples from this maker. I would be interested to see the pin on the EK1.

Thanks for showing these two crosses .
            Best regards,

Thanks for your comments and opinion, Trevor. Putting together matching sets of EK1s and EK2s is challenging and fun - and it's one of the reasons I enjoy this hobby as much as I do.

Soon I'll be posting shots of my 'S-W' matching set. Thanks again.

Here's a shot of the pin.

                Alex,
That is a nice looking set of crosses.

                Well done.

Concerning EK1 stamps for these makers, from what I have seen, WS stamps are always to the right of the catch, either in incuse relief (in a box) or stamped directly on the frame, which is often faint and missed initially by some collectors. With maker We, the stamp is always under the catch, where it is shown in this thread. It resembles a typical We stamp also, and can often be hard to make out if you do not know what you are looking for. It is never as easy to read as say KO. I say this is a We EK1 not a WS, at least where the stamps are concerned.
