    Blue max

    Hello,
Need help to determine if this is an original example. Your comments are appreciated.
Ribbons is 56mm wide. The cross 50mm wide. Tried to weigh cross, but the suspension ring and ribbon were attached, approx. 19.4 grams.
    Thank you, Peter

The first thing I noticed on this one is the "Rothe" style eagles.
If the cross were made by Rothe, why would it have a "Godet" makers
              mark?

What would be a fair value for this?

I believe you can buy these "new" somewhere for about GBP89,-. My numbers may be a bit off, but these are readily available from a re-enactor supply house based out of the UK for not too terribly much money.
                    Best regards,

I was referring to Morigi repros, also in real silver-gilt, also marked JGuS 938, also real enameled and well priced copies -- but I think perhaps a different copy.
                      Best regards,

This was made by Rothe, who never marked them. The marks on this piece were applied after it left their shop by someone who wanted to pass it off as something it isn't.

Rothe's are typically offered for sale in the US$ 800 to 1000 range, sometimes a bit more than that. Sometimes these turn up in the correct fitted Austrian gravestone/headstone case, and that adds almost a third more to the price.
