    Militar-Ehrenzeichen 1.kl

    Hi!
The ribbon is incorrect indeed, but what do you think about the cross? Original?
    (looks a bit strange, but...)

From my point of view this is a Golden Military Merit Cross. It can easily recognize at the marks at the bottom
of the lower part of the cross.

It should have the marks “938” for the silver contend and “W” for the marker Wagner. The cross has to gilded too.

            Thanks for showing!
It has markings 938 (918?) and W, so I'll take it and make pics of it when it arrives

Without any doubts a genuine Prussian Golden Military Merit Cross from WW I.

                    Thanks, I'm glad
Normally I don't tell about the price, but... I'm just so glad that i bought it just for 150 euro (!) - it was a great occasion and it will be a great add to my little collection!
Thank you all for your opinions and help!

But for sure I must ask one more time - it is OEK 1890, right?
I'm asking, 'cause those Kriegs-Verdienst crosses are confusing me a little bit...

A very nice item, and for that price the bargain of the decade.

OEK 1890 is the right catalog number!

Lovely piece ! Here is also a bargain that I bought from the selling off of Colonel Dodkins massed collection. It was a bag of about 8 odds and ends sold as one lot for the pricely sum of £35 !
Militar-Ehrenzeichen 1st class(OEK 1891). No marks on lower arm but three seperate marks on the ring !! Possibly a private purchase item made from a smooth armed red eagle order. Hand finished reverse medallion.

Does both the Militär-Ehrenzeichen 1kl and the Goldene Militär-Verdienst-Kreuz (aka Pour le Merite for enlisted men) have the flaw on the bar of the T in Verdienst? Read somewhere that some idiots took ME1's (which is silver) and gilded them to make the rarer GMVK. Is it possible they fakers marked the gilded example with W 938 too?

Borzadow> a real GMVK, which yours seems to be, would cost at least 10 times 150€!!!
