    ek's,how many??

    Hello guys!,
just a quick question, how many different types of EK were produced for world war 1?What i'm trying to say is were there non combatant versions or next of kin versions? The reason i ask is because i'm hoping to start collecting imperial awards,as these don't seem to be faked as much as third reich awards, and i thought that the EK would be a good place to start.
    Hope you can help,
    Regards,yorkie.
PS please could someone post pics if possible?

Bumped two threads out of the Back Pages on what the crosses and their documents looked like.

If you don't count the Grand Cross, which none of us will ever own, 2 Crosses, the 2nd and 1st Class, and 2 ribbons, combattant and non-combattant. If you're talking about constuction, there are1 piece, 2 piece, silver and iron, silver and brass, brass and iron, stamped sheet metals, etc. not to mention the one-off custom pieces. Then there are the marks, which could go on forever. Other than the ribbon arrangements a collection looks awfully repetative to the ununitiated, but there is a difference. Then there's the equivalents from the other states......
