    Interesting Ek 2

    Hi Guys
    Well had some free time today and was going thru my WW1 Ek2s and found something interesting on this cased Ek.On the suspension ring it has a stamped #5 .Also on the ribbon ring there is another maker Mark(W ?,cant make out the other mark) maybe some one can id the maker for me.Anyways does anyone know why they did this? I have seen a few like this and thought it was interesting.Thanks Jay

      I'm thinking it's a poorly marked WS "Wagner & Sohn" varient.

      Compare it against the ones' in our datebase---

          I just remembered from a prior thread i think its referred to as an inspection stamp,but will wait til the experts chim in.Jay

            Jay,
            Nobody really knows for sure what they are for but most believe
            them to be a aid in manufacturing. Inspection or quality control ect.

              Always nice to get a bonus mark, ive seen a few types probably some inspection mark or the assemblers stamp perhaps
