Unknown Award

I need a little help with this one, described as a possible Imperial Sports Award, the large wealth has a small button fixing it to the box with the word Delta on it, and appears to be the original box which features an Iron Cross (damaged) box is about 28cm x 24cm ..

but thats all I have to go on, any ideas, haven't seen anything like this before.

The only thing I can contribute is that it almost certainly a sports award. Looks like it represents a Lorbeerkranz - laurel wreath - which was often awarded in sports competitions including the Olympics if I'm not mistaken. As to what it was for specifically I can't say but it's a very nice item. Hopefully someone else will be able to give you more information.

no makers marks (only the word 'Delta' on the button) the award seem's to be made out of molded card.

well I have spend a good part of my week searching the net (yes it was in work time lol) trying to find something to compare this item with,.... but nothing, I really have no idea about its history or use......(apart from what has already been stated )

if anyone has new clues , or have seen one before,... let me know, Id love to hear from you.

I have seen a photograph album that looks very simmilar to the box with the cross attached.
