OK, here we go! Since voice tones cannot carry through the written word, let me just say up front that I appreciate all you you--Marshall, Trevor, Les, and anyone else from the experienced collector community giving me this shot at selling you on this concept. I am having fun with it (as I hope are you) and please take any of my fun-poking with a sincere smile. I respect you all and biggest reward for me would be to get one or more of you to say "well...maybe..."

    So...welcome to the Cafe PLM....

For our first special today, might I suggest some Crown Round?

While aged a bit, it is accented with some fine crenulations today, and a bit of the Chef's Shif-d'F. Note the refinement of the serif (arrow.)

Pictures, by the way, all scanned from either images in Prussian Blue which I hope Stephen will allow for academic purposes here, properly attributed, images from Medalnet--likewise, hope OK with Andreas--or my own files.

You would prefer something a little "beefier", perhaps? How about in hollow silver:

Should have some surface area there to work on a bit! Note how "short" the middle arm on the F is getting, between the body of the vertical component and the serif at the end of the arm (little arrow.)

Too much fat--need a little leaner version, perhaps with some sharp crown base detail?

Keep the F off to the left a bit, though...

N0...not quite what I am looking for.... perhaps more "in between", with some little hints of secret ingredients...

Well, I like the thin one after all....maybe with a little more pizzaz, though?

Keep note of the arrow pointing up toward the top. Will come back to that....

Now I would really love to have something from Berlin, maybe with a nicely set table around it....

Ah yes, the Berthold collection...that will do very nicely....

Vas ist los? (Sorry that is probably mangled German spelling--I'll try to come back and edit it during the time window.)

Not saying it is a "dead eye", but makes the point about how the effect occurs, and I'm not absolutely sure it isn't the same eagle--hard to make out the feather pattern exactly, and this guy could perhaps stand to lose a little weight in the midsection?

Note the connected serifs--a phenomenon previously remarked upon by Les and others.

Whoops...what happened to our serif on the u? It has been scalloped!

And, since it seems undeniable the GODET versions are of linked origin, though I speculate as to which came first, note where the F edge falls here:

VERY subtle, but notice a little variation in the halo at the marked areas?

So... are you all still absolutely certain "100%" as Sasha would say, I am crazy?

Have a little more, but will let you check this out and await return fire!

About three years ago I had a chance to have this one piece cast PLM in hands, when I got it from e-bay seller he was trying to say that PLM is die struck, when I got the PLM it was obvious that it's not die struck, ...so than in order to prove that it's strike he sands me a picture of a dies set, but he probably thought that I would get what kind of dies are those, those were not for a solid PLM it was negative of the obverse and positive of reverse, so I called him on it and he replied that a set of dies for hollow PLM is also for sale. ....so some one out there making hollow PLMs. Unfortunately I can't post those pictures of the dies that he sent me, it was a deal - he would let me look at those as long as I am not posting it on any public forum, .......but I can e-mail it privately as long as you not posting them.....

Hi Alikin, nice to have you join the thread and reference the solid cross you encountered and your earlier experience with its seller. I think there is something to be learned in making comparison to the finish on the one you obtained vs. mine, the GODET marked, and the Cejalvo types. Would like to see those dies, too...

Follow up to Sasha's comment about the wear pattern gilding on my suspension. This image better shows where the gilding is intact and where it is worn to bare silver, on top and underneath. The repaired solder joint is also well seen to the right, lacking gilding:
