This came in a box of GAR medals and Civil war belt buckles from an old estate, been up in the attic since the 1950s. I am not an expert on these but it looks good to me. No makers marks. Looks like someone washed the wreath with a little thin silver and gold paint. Didn't realize the back shot wasn't sharp until I downloaded from the camera this evening.

Lovely,lovely Maybauer made marine luftschiffer. These were silvered bronze or buntmetal with a green lacquered finish applied to the wreath and crown area (army version without crown) and the zeppelin body left silver. It is understandable why the army version was green lacquered but I do not know why they did the same for the marine too. Lovely piece.Ferg1.
