I have what appears to be a medal from the Napoleonic Wars. I'm sorry that I can't post photos. It appears to be gilt bronze with hanger. Ribbon is missing. It is named by having a short name heavily scratched into the open area at the bottom and the first initial of that last name heavily scratched into the open area at the top. No design elements are hit by the scrachings. One side features a crown over a germanic W surrounded by a continuous wreath with a bow at the bottom. The other side has crossed swords behind an shield area that looks like the fancy axe head on a halberd. Inside the halberd shape are the words "Fur treuen Dienst in zwei Feldjugen" My keyboard does not make the umlaut - sorry. I loosely translate this as
"For Faithful Service in Two Campaigns"
One person (Jeff Ford) on another forum suggested that it
could be a "Wurttemberg Kriegsdenkmunze fur die Feldzuge 1791-1815" which would be Napoleonic period.
Seeking the identification, ribbon colors and a fair trade value. Thank you so much for any help you can provide. harley bissell
