    Eki

I am posting this EKI screwback for Van Lais. It is marked 800 and has a two piece screw assembly.

If anyone has comments on condition, when they were issued, manufactured by, why no other marks are present, why does this one have a screw back rather than a pin as I have seen on similar ones on line? Any additional info or links to info pertaining to this would be appreciated. I know nothing about it and have been going in circles trying to find out correct name, maker, etc. This is how I landed at this forum and will be a member by days end. I found this in my Grandfather's basement in upstate New York in an old tool box after he passed away. I have been told that it is an Imperial EK by a member who was nice enough to post the pics for me. Magnet sticks to face, no markings on back other than the 800.

    Thanks

It's original but in poor condition, probably due to poor storage (toolboxes are not recommended for storing items opther than tools!).

Imo this screwback would be a private purchase example (awarded examples as far as I know were flat and pinback), possibly wartime or 20s, with a generic core that many makers used. ID'ing a maker would therefore be very difficult.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I'm intrigued, how cool. thanks for the info. Where can I find a catalog or website of other badges which were awarded during the same period to U.S. Army and other participating Army/Navy, etc.. Thinking I'll start a small collection of items from the period.
