Hohenzollern Merit Medals

Hohenzollern-Hechingen and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, had a house order that looks similar and I assume acted similar to the Prussian House Order. They also had a variety of merit medals they awarded in 1841 and 1842 (OEK 1038 and 1039). Does anyone know what these awards were specifically for?

Carl, if you're talking about the merit medal associated with the House Order, these were awarded with and without swords, the latter being awarded often to court lackey types.
