That's called a Brunswick Edward Albert Cross, or just a Brunswick Cross. It is a genuine decoration, but I'm not expert on them, so I hope someone will let you know if it's a good one.

The pin setup looks good and period ('20s-'30s) to me. I believe Otto Schickle used this pin.

Here's a similar pin on an Iron Cross, courtesy of Robert Pierce:

    Best regards,
    Streptile

        Hi John,

It is a Braunschweig Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse.

I have no problems with it. Imo it's probably a 20s or 30s example.

        Regards
        Mike

I think this cross has been given the thumbs up. This is one of the German states crosses. I have seen this hardware on EK1s before.

Not as common as the Iron Cross, but I wouldn't say rare.

Nimmergut said this decoration was awarded only between 20.3.-8.11.1918!
So a real awarded piece is far away from being common.I'm not talking about the 20/30ies pieces from Meybauer,Godet,Deumer ect-Who has got one? How have they to look?

My understanding is that the attached example below is of the type that was actually awarded.

Actually the proper name is Kriegsversienstkreuz 1. Klasse or War Merit Cross 1st class. It is also commonly referred to as the Ernst August Cross after it's founder Ernst August, Duke of Brunswick.
